All this time, and we're still 'dating' {Nia}

Dagereth stood idly awaiting his wife's arrival. Tonight he had planned to take her on a 'date' since she had been incessantly talking about feeling like they hadn't done anything nice with each other in a long time. And so instead of coming home that night, he'd left a large note in their room telling her where to meet him.

Now he was just waiting for her to arrive, and see how he'd set up the restaurant.

When they did go out to eat, this was by far their favorite place. There was a large table at the head of the room reserved specifically for himself and Ksenia, but tonight it wouldn't matter where they sat for they had the whole of the restaurant to themselves.

A proper smile spread itself on Ksenia's lips as she saw the note that her husband left her. They were going on a date. With them being so busy most of the time normally they would just stay at home. But she had been insisting that they go out recently, demanding more like. A lot of things had changed over the past two decades of their relationship and one of the things was that she was not as cautious as she was when they first met.

A small smirk appeared on her face as she stood in front of the full length mirror, checking her appearance one final time before leaving. she was wearing an actual dress, not the full length robes that covered all of her skin that she preferred to wear. She was the wife of the leader of Russia, there were certain protocols that even she had to follow. Though the dark red silk dress was still full length, it left her shoulders and arms bare. Coupled with the bright red lipstick that she usually wore it looked very nice. The blonde hair fell around her shoulders in loose curls, another thing that she changed. Ksenia smirked once again. This would certainly convince her husband to take her out more: he could never resist her beauty. With that last check she applarated to the restaurant.

Dagereth sucked in a breath as he saw the form of his wife's extravagant body pop into the restaurant. She looked absolutely stunning, and Dagereth smirked. He was so very happy with his decision to make her his wife. She was the epitome of beauty and power, of cruelty and darkness, his perfect dark lady.

"Ksenia." He said breathily as he pulled out her chair for her to sit down, he kissed her on her cheek. To be sure that her lipstick didn't smear. "You are stunning."

"Who would have known it would be so easy to stun the Dark Lord," Ksenia said smirking slightly. 

"You are the only one that continues to do so." He said as he took a seat himself. A waiter came then, and poured them each a glass of exotic wine before he left the bottle on the table and walked off.

"Shall we toast?" Dagereth asked taking his glass and raising it slightly.

"someone certainly has to," Ksenia said, giving him a smile before she picked up her own glass. " To what shall we toast?" she asked. It felt so good to forget about all the worries for one night, to just enjoy herself.

"I'd rather you choose." He said with a slight smirk. "What would you toast to?"

"This night," Ksenia said. "It's perfect." it really was. The only downside she could see it that they did not do this very often.

Dagereth nodded. Raising his glass higher, he replied, "Oh yes, it is perfect."

Ksenia gave him a smile and they drank their wine. "What are we having to eat today?" she asked him, raising her eyebrow.

"Whatever you want, Ksenia." Dagereth replied effortlessly as he poured more wine in his glass, and then motioned to her, "More?"

"Yes please," Kaenia nodded. "Why don't you choose?" she gave him a small smirk.

Dagereth smirked as he poured more wine in her glass. "Lobster?" He asked as he looked over the ornate menu in front of him.

"That sounds very nice," Ksenia said smiling, before she took another sip. "I was just thinking how much everything changed since we first met each other," she said, shaking her head slightly.

Dagereth took another drink, as well. "Yes very much has changed since we first met." His smirk widened.

"What if you did break me during those early times?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "you would have found anothe Dark Lady to replace me?"

"Yes." Dagereth replied, without a single thought otherwise. That had always been clear in his mind, even now. Even with his strong feelings for Ksenia, if she were suddenly unable to act accordingly. He would find another wife.

"I can see why dark men like yourself function without emotions. You are much more focused on your goals then any other people. I like that," Ksenia said thoughtfully. "But unlike many other dark lords before you, you have a dark lady."

Dagereth cocked his head, slightly at her reply. "You took that... a lot better than I expected Ksenia." He smiled at her. "And yet you keep showing how perfect you are at being the Dark Queen."

"Well you are not going to leave me now are you?" Ksenia asked. She hoped that his answer would be no. She had given him everything over the long years of their relationship as well as provided him with an heir to take over his legacy.

Dagereth chuckled lightly. "Not unless you cease to be the person you are now." He replied lightly, as the waiter made his way back over.

Within a few minutes of the waiter taking their orders and leaving, he came back with large plates of gourmet Lobster, steamed vegetables, and more wine.

"Enjoy your meal." He said politely before he scurried off like a timid mouse.

"I think it's too late for that," Ksenia said quietly giving him a small smile.

"This looks delicious," she said as she picked up her knife and fork and cut off a small piece from the lobster. She kept her eyes on the plate as a small frown formed on her forehead despite her best efforts to keep the face straight. When she was alone with her husband it was so much harder to control her emotions. She felt bad about almost ruining their date and the talk of him leaving her was making her uncomfortable. Of course the rational part of her knew that the chance of that ever happening would be slim, but that did not change the effect on her feelings. She did not blame him for this situation, she blamed herself. One of the very first things she liked about him was his honesty. The honesty about what he wanted from her and the honesty about their relationship.

Dagereth could tell that they had been a change in Ksenia's demeanor. He took a silent bite of the succulent lobster before he spoke.


"Something is eating at you." He said raising a questioning eyebrow.

And then he realized the irony of his statement. Because while it was very obvious that something was eating at his wife, there should be something eating at him. He wondered if he should tell his wife of his infidelity with her near eternal sworn enemy. He was very confidant that Aalyrial wouldn't utter a word regarding their sexual endeavors with one another, but Dagereth couldn't lie. Dagereth didn't love, couldn't love. But the feelings he felt for Ksenia often scared him, they were so very intense.

If he would ever love anyone, it would be the woman sitting before him.

Ksenia glanced up at him when he spoke. "The prospect of you ever leaving me is not very inviting," she said. She loved her husband, had loved him for many years, but she did not say anything to him about it. She knew he wasn't ready to hear that.

Dagereth chuckled lightly, "As I imagine it wouldn't be. Fear not thought Ksenia. As it looks now, you and I will be together for much longer." He said with a devilish smirk.
